Product intro and specs

VOOPOO has added two new entries to their popular ARGUS pod system line – the feature-packed ARGUS G and simplified ARGUS POD SE. Both devices take the widely-available ARGUS P1 pods with plug-and-play coil installations.

The ARGUS G boasts a full color screen, adjustable wattage up to 25W, and a 1000mAh battery capacity. It offers more customization and power over the standard ARGUS pods. The ARGUS POD SE has a more basic 800mAh battery without variable wattage or a display screen.

The pods have a 2mL capacity and come with built-in coils that must be replaced when burnt out. There is also a blank pod option that takes the ARGUS ITO coils. With familiar pod compatibility and performance, the new ARGUS G and SE aim to deliver flavor and versatility.

The ARGUS G retails for $29.99 and the POD SE for $24.99, available at popular vendors like eightvape.com. With enhanced or simplified features over classic ARGUS systems, vapers can choose the right model for their needs.

Build quality and design

The ARGUS POD SE has a basic rectangular shape perfect for pocketing. It comes in 5 colors with leather side panels for a stylish look. The tiny form factor feels solidly built despite the low weight.

An adjustable air slider provides a tight MTL to loose MTL draw. Side LEDs indicate battery life. While simple, the SE delivers on portability, aesthetics, and build quality.

The ARGUS G looks a bit taller and slimmer for an equally compact size. It sports a full display screen showing vape stats and battery level. An all-in-one firing button sits under the display.

Offered in 7 stylish color options including gradient fades, the G has an air slider adjustment for MTL to restricted DL. The premium materials and machining make it feel like a pricier pod system.

Both the SE and G weigh next to nothing but don’t feel cheap or flimsy at all. Between the wide range of attractive colors and sturdy construction, they are designed for everyday carry and use. For well-built, pocket-friendly pods in a classic rectangular format, the ARGUS SE and G hit the mark.

Getting started

The ARGUS POD SE is incredibly beginner-friendly. It’s automatic draw activated – just inhale to vape. No buttons or settings to deal with. Ultra simple and portable.

The ARGUS G has a single multi-function button but remains easy to use. 5 clicks turn it on/off. It’s also inhale-activated so the button is optional. 3 clicks enter wattage mode but it only adjusts within the coil’s range.

The magnetic pods snap in and out effortlessly for quick swaps. There’s no wiggle once installed. Removing the fill plug reveals large juice ports that make topping up a breeze.

With effortless pod connections, intuitive controls, and easy top-filling, both the SE and G are designed for simplicity. The automatic draw is great for new vapers and anyone wanting a fuss-free pod system. The super clear pods also let you monitor juice level. For uncomplicated all-day vaping, the ARGUS series delivers.

The replaceable coil pods deliver consistently great flavor and longevity – on par with my previous ARGUS experience.

The 0.7ohm pod is rated for direct lung but I prefer it for a loose MTL draw under 20W. At the full 25W capability of the G, it gets too hot. With 50/50 20-24mg nic salts, I averaged a very impressive 20mL lifetime.

The 1.2ohm pod is better suited to the lower power of these devices. It provides an ideal tighter MTL draw. I also averaged about 20mL per 1.2ohm pod – excellent duration.

Both the 0.7ohm and 1.2ohm pods produce satisfying flavor. While the 0.7 is dubbed a DL coil, I find the 1.2ohm MTL-focused pod a better match for the slim, lower-powered ARGUS systems. But vapers can choose based on their preferred draw style.

Across multiple devices now, these coils deliver long lifespan and consistent quality. For the size and price point, the ARGUS pods punch above their weight in terms of flavor and longevity.

Battery life and charging

  • 800mAh battery
  • USB-C charging
  • 0.7A max charge rate
  • 70 min full charge time
  • 3-light battery meter

  • 1000mAh battery
  • USB-C charging
  • 0.92A max charge rate
  • 90 min full charge time
  • Battery % on screen

The SE takes about 70 minutes to fully recharge its 800mAh cell. The charge rate is a bit slow at 0.7A max. Battery life is shown via 3 LEDs.

The G hits the advertised 1000mAh capacity and charges at a brisk 0.92A rate, filling in around 90 minutes. An on-screen percentage meter displays remaining battery life.

Both utilize USB-C for modern convenience but lack passthrough vaping while charging. Overall, the battery sizes are ample for pod devices and recharge at a reasona

Pros / Cons

In summary, the ARGUS SE and G earn big points for their straightforward operation, long battery life, flavor quality and coil consistency. The clear pods and accurate battery specs are also nice touches. Downsides are minor – mainly slow charging and lack of passthrough. For well-constructed and reliable all-day pod vapes, the ARGUS series delivers quality and value.

VOOPOO succeeds in offering two excellent options in the ARGUS POD SE and ARGUS G. Both deliver the same satisfying vape experience and compatibility with proven ARGUS coils.

The SE provides a more affordable, compact option focused purely on simple plug-and-play vaping. Its streamlined design and automatic draw are perfect for beginners.

For just a bit more money, the ARGUS G adds customizable airflow, variable wattage, larger battery, and detailed on-screen stats. It appeals to vapers wanting more personalization and battery life.

There’s no going wrong with either pod system. They share impressive build quality, flavor, and coil performance. The choice ultimately comes down to individual needs and budget. Seeking a basic hassle-free pod? Get the SE. Want more adjustments and battery capacity? Go for the G.

In the end, both versions of the ARGUS are easy to recommend for their consistent quality and reliability. Vapers looking for a fuss-free loose MTL pod experience will be very satisfied with the vape produced by the ARGUS series.
